Upon entering the chamber, you will find Richter Belmont. He is being controlled by Shaft. DO NOT KILL RICHTER! This is a critical point in the game. If you defeat Richter, you will get the bad ending and miss out on the entire second half of the game (the inverted castle).

How to Unlock the Inverted Castle:
- Equip the Holy Glasses. If you don't have them, you need to go back to the Library and talk to the Librarian after acquiring the Form of Mist. He will sell them to you for a significant sum of gold.
- During the fight with Richter, you will see a green orb floating above him. This is the magical orb controlling him, cast by Shaft.
- While Richter is attacking you, use the Holy Glasses to see the orb. Your goal is to attack and destroy this orb, not Richter.
- Richter is still dangerous, so dodge his attacks (whip, sub-weapons, item crashes) while focusing on hitting the orb. The Bat form can be useful for flying up to hit the orb.
- Once the orb is destroyed, Richter will be freed from Shaft's control, and the castle will invert, revealing the true final act of the game.
Reward: Unlocking the Inverted Castle and the true ending path.
