Royal Chapel
The Royal Chapel is a striking area known for its vertical ascent, stained-glass windows, and grand staircases. Enemies here include the agile Hunting Girl and the dangerous Spectral Sword, which can be dispatched by destroying its orbiting blades. For ranged threats like Bone Halberds, utilize subweapons such as the Knife or Axe for effective long-distance takedowns.
The expansive main hall of the Chapel is guarded by the boss, the Hippogryph. To defeat it, focus attacks on its head and underbelly. When it prepares its fire breath attack, take cover in a corner or use the Soul Steal spell if you have sufficient MP. After this victory, continue your ascent to find Maria and retrieve a crucial traversal relic.
Castle Keep
The Castle Keep marks the effective apex of the initial castle section and serves as a vital junction. The primary objective here is to obtain the Leap Stone, which grants Alucard the Double Jump ability, essential for reaching new areas. explore the upper rafters to find the powerful (albeit cursed) sword, Tyrfing, and the utility item, Ghost Prism.
Once you have the Leap Stone, a critical path opens up in the top-left section of the Keep, leading to the Form of Mist relic. This relic allows Alucard to transform into mist, passing through grates and certain enemy attacks, further expanding exploration options. The Castle Keep also houses the main elevator hub, connecting many of the castle's core zones and serving as a significant fast-travel point.
