After completing the game with Alucard (achieving the true ending), you unlock two additional playable characters: Richter Belmont and Maria Renard. These modes offer a fresh challenge and a different gameplay experience, as they do not have Alucard's RPG elements or transformations.

Richter Mode & Maria Mode
  • Richter Mode: Play as Richter Belmont, wielding the Vampire Killer whip and various sub-weapons. He has a powerful Item Crash ability. Richter's movement is more rigid than Alucard's, focusing on precise platforming and combat.
  • Maria Mode: Play as Maria Renard, who uses doves and other animal-themed attacks. She has a double jump from the start and a unique set of special moves. Maria is generally considered easier to play than Richter due to her agility and ranged attacks.

These modes are excellent for replayability and provide a different perspective on the castle's layout and challenges. They are often used for speedrunning due to their fixed stats and unique movement options.
