Understanding the Bestiary Entries
Each entry in this bestiary is designed to give you a complete picture of the enemy. Here's what you can expect:
- Enemy Name: The official name of the creature.
- Location(s): Where you can find this enemy. Specific areas and rooms will be noted for easier tracking.
- HP/MP: Their health and magic point pools.
- Weaknesses/Resistances: Elemental or weapon types they are vulnerable or resistant to. Exploit weaknesses for faster dispatch!
- Attacks & Patterns: A detailed description of their offensive capabilities and common attack sequences.
- Strategy: Step-by-step advice on how to effectively defeat them, including recommended Glyphs, weapons, and movement techniques.
- Drops: A list of items they can drop, including rare materials and valuable equipment. We'll also highlight good farming spots for specific items.
Early Game Encounters (Areas A-C)
Skeleton
- Location(s): Monastery, Wygol Village (initial areas), Ruvas Forest (early sections).
- HP/MP: Low (approx. 10-15 HP). No MP.
- Weaknesses/Resistances: Generally neutral to most attacks. Holy damage can be slightly more effective.
- Attacks & Patterns:
- Bone Toss: Throws a single bone in a high arc. Easily dodged by ducking or moving forward.
- Melee Swipe: If you get too close, they'll perform a slow, short-range swipe with their arm.
- Strategy: These are your basic fodder. Any weapon or Glyph will dispatch them quickly. A single whip strike or a basic melee attack is usually sufficient. Focus on timing your attacks to hit them as they approach.
- Drops:
- Bone: Common drop. Used in various crafting recipes.
- Salt: Uncommon drop. Essential for some early-game food recipes and quests. Good farming spot: The first few screens of the Monastery have a high concentration of Skeletons.
Bat
- Location(s): Monastery (upper levels), Ruvas Forest (tree branches), Kalidus Channel (cave sections).
- HP/MP: Very Low (approx. 5-8 HP). No MP.
- Weaknesses/Resistances: Highly vulnerable to projectile Glyphs and wide-arc attacks.
- Attacks & Patterns:
- Dive Bomb: Flies erratically, then swoops down towards your position.
- Strategy: Bats are annoying due to their erratic flight paths. Use a weapon with good vertical reach, like the whip, or a projectile Glyph such as Vol Luminatio (found early in the Monastery). If they dive, simply move out of the way and strike as they recover.
- Drops:
- Bat Wing: Common drop. Used for crafting and certain quests.
Zombie
- Location(s): Monastery (ground floor), Wygol Village (graveyard), Ruvas Forest (swampy areas).
- HP/MP: Low (approx. 12-18 HP). No MP.
- Weaknesses/Resistances: Fire damage can be slightly more effective.
- Attacks & Patterns:
- Slow Lunge: Shambles towards you and attempts a slow, short-range lunge.
- Strategy: Zombies are slow and predictable. Keep your distance and strike them down before they get close. They pose little threat individually, but can be problematic in groups if you get surrounded. The Fulgur Glyph (found in Ruvas Forest) can chain lightning between them, making group clearance easy.
- Drops:
- Rotten Meat: Common drop. Can be used for some low-tier crafting or sold for a small amount.
Bone Scimitar
- Location(s): Monastery (upper corridors), Ruvas Forest (hidden paths).
- HP/MP: Medium (approx. 25-30 HP). No MP.
- Weaknesses/Resistances: Holy damage.
- Attacks & Patterns:
- Scimitar Slash: Wields a scimitar and performs a quick, horizontal slash when you are in range.
- Shield Block: Can block your attacks with its shield, reducing damage or negating it entirely.
- Strategy: These skeletal warriors are tougher than regular Skeletons due to their shield. Wait for them to attack, then strike during their recovery animation. Alternatively, use Glyphs that bypass shields, such as area-of-effect spells or attacks that hit from behind. The Globus Glyph (found in the Monastery) can be effective as it bounces and can hit them from an angle.
- Drops:
- Scimitar: Uncommon drop. A basic weapon for early game.
- Iron Ore: Rare drop. Useful for crafting stronger weapons and armor at the village blacksmith. Good farming spot: The long corridor in the upper Monastery, just before the first boss, often has two Bone Scimitars.
