Children of Mana offers four distinct characters, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. Your choice will significantly impact your playstyle. While their avatar colors remain default in menus, you can customize their in-game sprite colors.
- Flick (Ferrik in U.S.): A fifteen-year-old boy, Flick is a versatile all-rounder, strong in offense, defense, and magic. He's effective at any distance. His hair colors include Orange, Green, Blue, and Silver.
- Tumble (Tamber in U.S.): A sixteen-year-old girl, Tumble is fast and skilled in magic, though her physical attack is weaker. She's described as a 'dancer with magical talents.' Her dress colors are Red, White, Pink, and Blue.
- Pop (Poppen in U.S.): A fearless nine-year-old boy, Pop specializes in offensive magic but has low defense and is unskilled in close combat. His style colors are Yellow, White, Blue, and Red.
- Wanderer: A traveling merchant from the Nikita tribe, Wanderer is a strong fighter, especially in close combat, but weak in magic. He excels in attack and defense. His hat colors include Green, Blue, Emerald, and Brown.
