Weapon Types and Mechanics

Learn Children of the Sun's weapon mechanics. Master Swords, Flails, Bows, and Hammers, understanding their basic, focused, and Fury attacks.

You have access to four distinct weapon types, each with unique attacks, focused attacks, and enhanced Fury attacks. You can equip two weapons at a time and switch between them using the R button during gameplay. Weapons are acquired randomly from enemies, chests, or purchased from Millionaire's store. Each weapon has a level requirement that varies by character.

Swords:

  • Basic Attack: Up to three consecutive slashes, with the last knocking enemies back. Excellent for clearing obstacles.
  • Focused Attack (Parry): Deflects missiles and reduces physical damage. Basic parry lasts 5 hits. Gems can increase hits or damage reduction.

  • Basic Attack: Twirls around the character, knocking back surrounding enemies. Good for crowd control. Gems can increase spin count.
  • Focused Attack: Throws the flail in a straight line to retrieve items, pull enemies, pull character across gaps, or reveal hidden items. Gems can add piercing or item-stealing effects.
  • Fury Focused Attack: Twirls with greater range and power.

Bows:

  • Basic Attack: Fires a single arrow.
  • Focused Attack: Charges a more powerful shot.
  • Fury Focused Attack: Fires multiple arrows or a more powerful, piercing shot.

Hammers:

  • Basic Attack: Slow, powerful swing, often with a chance to stun.

  • Fury Focused Attack: Unleashes a devastating ground pound or a series of powerful blows.

The appearance of your character's sprite does not change with different weapons, only the weapon model in their hand. Always ensure your equipped weapons meet your character's level requirement.
