Boss Name: Doppelgangers
Your first challenge in the Cosmic Rift is a battle against Doppelgangers. These entities take on the form and abilities of your own character, or sometimes other party members if playing multiplayer. This means they will use your equipped weapons and magic against you.
- Phase 1: Mirror Match: You will face one or more Doppelgangers that mimic your character's abilities. They will use your sword, flail, bow, and hammer attacks, as well as your equipped elemental magic.
- Phase 2: Enhanced Mimicry (Mid HP): As their health decreases, Doppelgangers may gain temporary buffs or use more aggressive versions of your attacks. They might also coordinate their attacks if there are multiple.
- Phase 3: Fury Activation (Low HP): Near defeat, a Doppelganger might activate its own 'Fury' mode, becoming faster and more powerful, just like your character.
Strategy: This fight is a test of how well you understand your own character's strengths and weaknesses. Since they mirror you, try to exploit any vulnerabilities you know your character has. For example, if your character is weak in magic, focus on physical attacks. If you are strong in melee, try to keep distance and use your bow. Use your own Fury mode strategically to overpower them. The Flail's knockback can create space, and the Bow allows you to attack from a safe distance. Be prepared for a fast-paced, unpredictable fight where your own tactics are turned against you. This battle serves as a final assessment of your mastery over your chosen character.
Reward: Defeating the Doppelgangers allows you to proceed to the final boss.
