Dungeons in Children of Mana are filled with various obstacles and environmental hazards. Knowing how to bypass them is key to efficient exploration:

- Bails of Hay/Floating Blocks/Box Obstacles: These obstacles follow your movements. Several methods exist to get past them:
- Bash: Repeatedly attack them, though this is slow.
- Object Placement: Use your sword's knock-back strike or flail to push a barrel or other object into their path, blocking them.
- Flail Diagonally: Use the flail's focused attack diagonally to pull yourself across just above or below the obstacle. The block often can't follow fast enough.
- Focused Fury Sword Attack: Some sources suggest a focused Fury sword attack in diagonal can also bypass them.
- Fast-Moving Quicksand (Fiery Sands):
- Flail: Diagonally aim and latch onto a wall to pull yourself across. Effective for subquests, but may not cover full distances in main missions.
- Virtue of Balance Gem: Equip this gem to walk on sand (and ice) normally, the most reliable method.
- Slippery Ice (Ice Citadel): The Virtue of Balance gem also negates the slippery effect of ice.
- Ice Blocks: Use a charged Hammer attack to break these.
Mastering these techniques will save you time and frustration in dungeons.
