Understanding character stats and growth is fundamental to building a powerful and effective party in Chrono Trigger. Each character possesses unique base stats that influence their performance in combat, and these stats evolve as they gain experience and level up.
While the game doesn't feature complex stat allocation systems like some RPGs, each character has a distinct growth curve. Some characters naturally excel in physical attack, while others have higher magic power, defense, or speed. Recognizing these traits helps in determining their optimal role within your party.
Core Character Stats:

Growth and Progression:
- Leveling Up: Characters gain experience points (EXP) from battles. Upon reaching certain EXP thresholds, they level up, increasing their base stats.
- Equipment: Weapons, armor, and accessories significantly boost stats. Equipping the best available gear is crucial for maximizing a character's potential.
- Techs: As characters level up, they learn new Techs. Some characters also learn new Techs based on the levels of other characters in the party, enabling powerful Dual and Triple Techs.
