Beyond permanent powers and enhancements, City of Heroes features a variety of Temporary Powers and Consumables that can provide a significant edge in combat. Temporary Powers are often granted by contacts for specific missions, or can be purchased from vendors (like the Quartermaster) or the Auction House. These powers have a limited number of uses or a short duration, but can be incredibly potent, offering buffs, heals, or powerful attacks.
Consumables include items like Inspiration (small, medium, large), which instantly restore a portion of your Health or Endurance. You'll find these as drops from enemies or can purchase them. Always keep a stock of Inspirations on hand, especially for challenging missions or boss fights. Other consumables might include temporary travel powers or special mission-specific items.
