Mantis are fast, agile alien units that often appear in groups and can quickly flank your forces. They have a strong melee attack and can be particularly disruptive to your backline ranged units. Their speed makes them difficult to pin down. The best strategy against Mantis involves defensive formations and area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Use melee units to form a defensive line, protecting your ranged units. Artillery and Bombers are excellent for dealing AoE damage to groups of Mantis. Harmony units, with their Miasma immunity and potential for alien control, can turn Mantis into allies or at least mitigate their threat. Purity units with increased defensive bonuses can withstand their attacks better. Try to lure them into chokepoints or open terrain where your ranged units can fire freely without being flanked.
