Effective unit positioning can turn the tide of battle. Always utilize terrain to your advantage. Units on Hills gain a defensive bonus, making them ideal for holding chokepoints or defending cities. Units in Forests or Jungle gain a defensive bonus and can sometimes hide from enemy sight. Position Ranged Units (Artillery, Gunners) behind your Melee Units (Marines, Tanks) to protect them while they deal damage. Use Mounted Units (Buggy, Tank) for flanking maneuvers or quickly reinforcing threatened areas. When attacking cities, surround them to prevent healing and maximize damage. Be mindful of Zones of Control; enemy units exert a Zone of Control on adjacent tiles, slowing down your units. Use this to your advantage by blocking enemy movement or creating traps. Always consider the next turn's moves and potential enemy counter-attacks.
