Maximizing your card collection and leveling up your favorite troops is crucial for climbing the Clash Royale ladder. The Card Trading and Donation system provides an invaluable way to acquire specific cards you need and help your clanmates, fostering a strong community within your clan.

Understanding the Basics of Trading

Card trading allows you to exchange cards with other members of your clan. This is particularly useful for obtaining cards you're actively trying to level up, or for offloading excess cards that you don't use.

Initiating a Trade

  1. Access the Clan Tab: From the main game screen, tap on the "Clan" icon located at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Navigate to the Trade Menu: Within the Clan tab, look for the "Trade" button, usually represented by two arrows forming a circle, or a similar exchange icon. Tap this to open the trade interface.
  3. Create a Trade Offer:
    • Select Cards to Give: On the left side of the trade screen, you'll see your available cards. Choose the card(s) you are willing to give away. You can select multiple cards of the same rarity if you have enough.
    • Select Cards to Request: On the right side, choose the card(s) you wish to receive in return. You can only request cards of the same rarity as the cards you are offering. For example, if you offer 10 Common cards, you can request 10 Common cards.
    • Confirm Trade: Once you've selected your offer and request, tap the "Trade" button. This will post your trade offer to the clan chat.

Trade Tokens: The Currency of Exchange

To initiate a trade, you will need a Trade Token corresponding to the rarity of the cards you wish to trade. These tokens are consumed upon creating a trade offer. Trade Tokens can be acquired through various means:

  • Clan Wars: Participating in and performing well in Clan Wars is a primary source of Trade Tokens.
  • Special Challenges: Many limited-time special challenges offer Trade Tokens as rewards for reaching certain win milestones.
  • Shop Offers: Occasionally, Trade Tokens will appear in the Shop for purchase with Gems.
  • Pass Royale: Players with an active Pass Royale often receive Trade Tokens as part of their seasonal rewards.

Strategy Tip: Always keep a few Trade Tokens on hand, especially for Epic and Legendary cards, as these trades are less frequent and more impactful.

Accepting a Trade

When a clanmate posts a trade offer in the clan chat, you can accept it if you have the requested cards and are willing to give them up. Simply tap on the trade offer in the chat, review the exchange, and tap "Accept" if you agree. You do not need a Trade Token to accept an offer, only to initiate one.

Donations: Helping Your Clan Grow

Donating cards to your clanmates is a fantastic way to earn Gold and Experience (XP), while also strengthening your clan as a whole. When a clanmate requests cards, you can fulfill their request if you have spare cards of that type.

How to Donate Cards

  1. Access the Clan Chat: Open your Clan tab and view the clan chat.
  2. Identify Card Requests: Look for messages from clanmates requesting specific cards. These requests will have a "Donate" button next to them.
  3. Donate: Tap the "Donate" button. You can donate a limited number of cards per request, depending on the card's rarity.
    • Common Cards: Up to 10 cards per request.
    • Rare Cards: Up to 1 card per request.
    • Epic Cards: Up to 1 card per request (once per week).

Benefits of Donating

  • Gold: You receive Gold for every card you donate. The amount varies by card rarity (e.g., 5 Gold for a Common, 50 Gold for a Rare).
  • Experience (XP): Donating also grants you XP, helping you level up your King Tower.
  • Clan Chest/War Bounty: In some past events or current Clan War mechanics, donations contributed to clan-wide progress or rewards.
  • Goodwill: Helping your clanmates fosters a positive environment and encourages them to donate back when you need cards.

Requesting Cards

You can also request cards from your clanmates. This is done through the same Clan tab. Tap the "Request Cards" button (often represented by a hand reaching out). You can request cards every 7 hours, and the quantity you can request depends on the card rarity:

  • Common Cards: Up to 40 cards.
  • Rare Cards: Up to 4 cards.
  • Epic Cards: Up to 1 card (once per week).
  • Legendary Cards: Cannot be requested directly, only obtained through trades using a Legendary Trade Token.

Strategy Tip: Always request cards that you are actively using in your main battle decks or cards that are close to leveling up. This ensures your requests are efficient and beneficial to your progress.

Advanced Trading Strategies

  • Targeted Leveling: Focus your trades and requests on 1-2 key cards per rarity that you want to max out. This concentrated effort will yield faster results than spreading your requests too thin.
  • Clan Communication: Use the clan chat to coordinate trades. If you need a specific Legendary card, announce it and see if a clanmate has an extra and is looking for something you can offer.
  • "Bank" Excess Cards: Don't be afraid to trade away cards you have in abundance, even if they are high rarity, if you don't use them. Those cards can be converted into cards you do need.
  • Epic Sunday: Epic cards can only be requested and donated once per week. Plan your Epic requests strategically for "Epic Sunday" to maximize your chances of getting them filled.
