Welcome, adventurer, to the CloverPit Exploration Guide! This section is your key to unlocking the secrets of Clover Fields, Cloverton, and beyond. We'll cover essential items, hidden paths, and how to navigate the early areas of your journey.
The Starting Zone: Clover Fields
Your adventure begins in the Clover Fields. While seemingly simple, this area holds vital early-game items and introduces fundamental exploration mechanics.
- First Steps: Head north to the dilapidated shack. Inside, find the Rusty Key on an overturned barrel to unlock the nearby storage chest.
- Hidden Cache: Proceed east from the shack, hugging the rock wall. Interact with a patch of vibrant clover to reveal a hidden compartment containing 3x Healing Salve and a Crude Map Fragment (Clover Fields). This fragment updates your map, revealing a hidden path.
- The Whispering Well: Follow the newly revealed path south to the Whispering Well. Examine its base for a loose stone, behind which lies a Silver Locket, part of the "Lost Heirloom" quest.
- Cloverton Entrance: The main path leads to Cloverton. Ensure you have the Rusty Key and the Crude Map Fragment before proceeding.
Cloverton: Hub of Activity
Cloverton is your central hub. Thorough exploration here is crucial for unlocking new quests and areas.
- The Blacksmith's Backroom: Use the Rusty Key to unlock the back door of the blacksmith's shop. Inside, find a chest with a Worn Pickaxe and 50 Gold Coins.
- Mayor Thorne's Study: The Mayor's study on the second floor is locked. Obtain the Ornate Key by completing Merchant Elara's "Missing Shipment" quest. Inside, you'll find the Ancient Tome of Lore, unlocking new dialogue and puzzle hints.
- The Old Mill: On the western outskirts, climb to the second floor of the Old Mill and examine the broken machinery for a hidden lever. Pulling it opens a secret passage in the basement leading to a Chest of Minor Runes.
Venturing Beyond: Shadowfen Mire Access
Prepare to explore the dangerous but rewarding Shadowfen Mire.
- Mire Gate Key: Obtain the Mire Gate Key from Captain Valerius after completing "The Whispering Shadows" quest in Cloverton. The gate is south of town.
- Navigating the Mire: The Shadowfen Mire is a labyrinth. The Crude Map Fragment (Shadowfen), found on a Mire Lurker mini-boss, will greatly aid navigation.
- The Sunken Altar: Use the Grappling Hook (from Foreman Griz's "Lost Tools" quest) on the gnarled tree branch overlooking the chasm to reach the Sunken Altar. Here you'll find the Shard of the Ancients.
