Unlocking the "Successor of the Claw" achievement in Code Vein II requires you to overcome a formidable boss and reclaim a crucial piece of lost memory. This achievement is tied to defeating the **Successor of the Claw**, a powerful Revenant who has succumbed to the Bloodthirst and guards a vital Vestige. This particular Successor is known for their swift, claw-based attacks and their ability to inflict the Frenzy status effect, which can rapidly deplete your own health if not managed carefully. The fight typically takes place in the **Crimson Mire**, a treacherous area filled with environmental hazards that can be as dangerous as the boss itself.
To prepare for this encounter, it is highly recommended to have a Blood Code that offers good mobility and defensive capabilities. The Stinger Blood Code, for instance, provides excellent evasion options with its quick dash and can be further enhanced with Gifts like Blade Dance for sustained offense. Ensure your chosen weapon, such as the Claw of the Beast, is upgraded to at least +3. Pay close attention to the Successor's attack patterns; they often telegraph their lunging claw swipes and ground slams. A well-timed dodge is paramount. When the Successor begins to glow with a crimson aura, they are about to unleash a devastating combo, often including a multi-hit flurry. This is the prime opportunity to create distance or use a defensive Gift like Iron Will to mitigate the incoming damage. After their combo concludes, there will be a brief window to retaliate with your own attacks. Successfully defeating the Successor of the Claw will reward you with their primary Vestige, the Vestige of the Claw, and unlock this achievement.
