Blood Code Skill Tree & Progression

Mastering the Blood Code system is paramount to crafting a potent Revenant hunter in Code Vein 2. Each Blood Code acts as a foundation, dictating your base stats, the Gifts you can learn, and the weapon proficiencies you possess. Progression within a Blood Code is achieved by accumulating Proficiency Points (PP), earned through combat and completing certain objectives. These points are then invested into a dedicated skill tree unique to each Code. For example, the 'Vanguard' Blood Code might offer a skill tree focused on enhancing melee damage and defensive capabilities, while the 'Phantom' Code could specialize in stealth and ranged attacks.

When investing PP, players will encounter nodes that grant passive stat bonuses, such as a +5% increase to Strength or a +10% boost to Stamina regeneration. Other nodes unlock entirely new Gifts, powerful abilities that consume Ichor to activate. Some advanced nodes might even offer synergistic effects, like increasing the damage of a specific Gift by 15% when a certain weapon type is equipped. It's crucial to understand that while you can equip Gifts from any learned Blood Code, your base stats and weapon proficiencies are tied to your currently active Code. This encourages strategic switching between Codes to adapt to different combat scenarios. For instance, facing a heavily armored boss might necessitate switching to a Code with high Strength and Gifts that exploit physical weaknesses, while a swarm of agile enemies could call for a Code with area-of-effect Gifts and faster attack animations.

You can respec their skill points, allowing for experimentation with different builds. This is particularly useful when trying to optimize for specific boss encounters or when discovering new Blood Codes. For instance, if you find yourself struggling against the 'Crimson Knight' due to its rapid attacks, you might reallocate PP from offensive skills to defensive Gifts like 'Guard Up' or 'Iron Will' within your current Blood Code, or even switch to a Code that offers better evasion capabilities. Remember to check the requirements for each node; some advanced skills may require a certain level of proficiency in a specific weapon class or the prior acquisition of a prerequisite Gift. The 'Blood Vein' system also plays a role, as certain Blood Codes are unlocked by reaching specific story milestones or by defeating particular bosses, expanding your progression options.
