Gilded Hunter Strategy (Den of the Dead)

The Gilded Hunter, a formidable foe lurking within the treacherous Den of the Dead, demands a tactical approach. This boss excels at rapid, sweeping attacks with its ornate blade and possesses a devastating charge that can quickly close distances. Its primary weakness lies in its predictable attack patterns and a brief recovery window after certain powerful moves. Prioritize dodging *into* its attacks rather than away; this often positions you behind the Hunter, allowing for opportune strikes. When it performs its multi-hit sword combo, focus on evading each individual swing. A well-timed dodge with the Blood Vein ability can grant you invincibility frames, letting you slip through the flurry unscathed. After the combo concludes, the Gilded Hunter will pause for approximately 1.5 seconds, presenting your best chance to land 2-3 light attacks or a single charged heavy attack. Be wary of its ranged projectile, a golden shard that travels quickly. This can be dodged by sidestepping or, if you have sufficient stamina, by sprinting laterally. If you find yourself struggling with its aggression, consider equipping the Guardian's Blessing passive to increase your damage resistance by 15%. The Gilded Hunter is particularly susceptible to fire damage; any Blood Code that enhances fire attacks, such as the Scathach Blood Code, will significantly shorten this encounter. Remember to manage your stamina carefully; a depleted stamina bar leaves you vulnerable to its swift counter-attacks. Look for opportunities to interrupt its longer animations, such as its healing gesture, by landing a charged heavy attack. Successfully staggering the Gilded Hunter will open it up for a critical hit, dealing substantial damage.
