Juzo Mido Strategy

Juzo Mido, the formidable boss of the Ruined City Center, is a multi-phase encounter that tests your mastery of evasion and precise offensive timing. Mido's primary threat comes from his immense physical power and his ability to manipulate the environment. In his first phase, he relies on wide, sweeping sword attacks and a powerful ground slam that creates a shockwave. Dodge through his initial swings, aiming to get behind him. His ground slam has a clear telegraph: he will raise his sword high before bringing it down. When this occurs, sprint away from the impact zone.

After taking a significant amount of damage, Mido will transition into his second phase, where he gains access to a devastating AoE attack that pulls you towards him before unleashing a massive explosion. This attack has a long wind-up, indicated by him drawing power into his sword and a visible vortex forming around him. When this begins, immediately use your fastest dodge or a Blood Veil ability that grants invincibility frames, such as the Queen Slayer's evasion, to create distance. During this phase, Mido also gains a projectile attack – a series of homing energy orbs. These can be dodged with well-timed rolls or blocked if your defense is high enough.

The key to defeating Juzo Mido is to exploit his recovery animations. After his major attacks, he will pause for a few seconds, allowing you to land 2-3 hits. Do not get greedy. If you are using a Blood Code that benefits from critical hits, such as the Assassin, aim for his back whenever possible. Mido is susceptible to Ice damage, so consider using weapons or Gifts that exploit this weakness. If you find yourself struggling with his relentless aggression, consider equipping the Courage passive to increase your damage output or the Fortification passive to bolster your defenses. Managing your Stamina is paramount; ensure you always have enough for at least two dodges. Clearing the smaller enemies that sometimes spawn during the fight is also crucial to avoid being overwhelmed. Focus on Mido when the opportunity arises, but don't hesitate to deal with any immediate threats.
