Her primary offensive tool is the "Bone Shard Volley," a rapid barrage of projectiles that can quickly deplete your health. Dodge *sideways* repeatedly to avoid the majority of these shards. She also has a "Ribcage Slam," where she materializes briefly to slam down a spectral ribcage. This attack has a clear visual cue and can be dodged by rolling away. During these moments, she is briefly vulnerable, allowing for a few quick hits with a faster weapon.
The Successor's most dangerous ability is her "Soul Drain." If she manages to ensnare you with her spectral tendrils, she will begin to siphon your ichor and health. To break free, you must mash the dodge button. If you have a companion, they can often interrupt this attack.
