For example, in the toxic swamps of the Mirelands, iting the volatile gas pockets with a fire-based Gift like 'Flame Vortex' can create a chain reaction, dealing significant AoE damage to any enemies caught in the blast radius. This is particularly effective against tightly grouped packs of the mutated Grotesques.
Pay attention to destructible elements. Some walls or debris can be shattered, revealing hidden paths or, more importantly, dropping enemies into lower areas or pits. In the crumbling cityscapes, luring a powerful enemy like a Crusader near a weakened balcony and then attacking the supports can send them plummeting to their doom, instantly eliminating a significant threat. Conversely, some hazards can be used defensively. If you're being pursued by a relentless foe, leading them through a patch of electrified water or a field of razor-sharp crystals can inflict damage and slow their pursuit, giving you precious time to heal or regroup. Learning to anticipate these environmental interactions is crucial. Look for visual cues: flickering lights, cracked surfaces, or bubbling liquids often indicate a potential hazard. Even seemingly innocuous elements can be weaponized. For instance, in the frozen wastes, luring enemies onto thin ice can cause them to fall through, dealing damage and separating them from the main group.
