Joining Another Player's World
Embarking on a cooperative adventure by joining another player's world in Code Vein II opens up a new dimension of gameplay, allowing you to tackle the game's formidable challenges with the aid of a human ally. To initiate this process, you'll need to access the Network menu, typically found within the main menu or at a Mistle. From there, select the "Online Play" or "Co-op" option. The game will then present you with several choices, including the ability to search for open sessions or to join a specific player's world if you have their unique session ID. When searching for open sessions, the game will scan for other players who are currently online and have their co-op settings configured to allow visitors. You can often filter these searches based on factors like the current story progression or the specific area the host player is in. Once you find a suitable session, you can request to join. The host player will then receive a notification and can choose to accept or decline your request. Upon acceptance, you will be transported into their game world, appearing near their current location, often close to a Mistle.
Upon successfully joining another player's world, you will become their temporary ally. Your primary objective is to assist them in their current endeavors, whether that involves clearing a difficult area, defeating a challenging boss like the Queen's Knight, or exploring a new region. You will share the same objectives as the host, and any progress made in terms of defeating enemies or clearing objectives will be reflected in both players' games. However, it's crucial to understand that certain story progression elements, such as cutscenes or major plot points, may be locked for the visiting player until they reach those points in their own single-player campaign. Your Haze and item gains are generally persistent, but any Blood Codes or Gifts learned while in another player's world will only be retained if you have already met the prerequisites for learning them in your own game. If the host player dies, the session will typically end, and you will be returned to your own world. Similarly, if you die, you will be sent back to your own Mistle. Communication is key in co-op; utilizing in-game emotes or voice chat (if available) can greatly enhance coordination, especially when facing tough enemies like the three Hollow Soldiers guarding a critical path. Be mindful of the host's Blood Code and Gift choices, and try to complement their playstyle to create a more effective team. For instance, if the host is using a heavy melee Blood Code like the "Berserker", consider using a more ranged or supportive Blood Code yourself.
