Password Matching Explained
Password Matching in Code Vein II is an essential feature for players who wish to connect with specific friends or allies for cooperative play, bypassing the random matchmaking system. This system allows you to create or join private sessions that are only accessible to those who know the desated password. To set up a password, navigate to the Network menu and select the "Online Play" or "Co-op" option. Within this menu, you'll find an option to set or enter a password. When you choose to host a co-op session, you can input a unique password of your choosing. This password can be any combination of letters and numbers, up to a certain character limit. Once set, only players who enter the exact same password when searching for sessions will be able to find and join your game. This is incredibly useful for coordinating with friends who might be at different stages of the game or for ensuring you don't get matched with random players when you want a focused experience with a specific group.
Conversely, if you wish to join a friend's private session, you will need to know the password they have set. When you are in the Network menu and searching for co-op sessions, there will be an option to "Enter Password" or "Search by Password." Input the exact password provided by your friend. The game will then filter the available sessions and only display those that match your entered password. This ensures that you are connecting with the intended players. Password Matching is particularly beneficial for tackling challenging content together, such as the difficult bosses found in the Depths or for completing specific objectives that require coordinated effort, like clearing out a heavily guarded area in the Provisional Government Center. It also prevents unwanted interference from other players who might not be aled with your group's goals. For example, if you and a friend are trying to defeat the formidable Fionn and Argent Wolf, using a password ensures only the two of you are present to tackle the encounter, rather than dealing with additional players who might disrupt your strategy. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive, so ensure you enter them precisely as provided. If you're having trouble connecting, double-check the password for any typos or incorrect capitalization. This feature is crucial for maintaining a controlled and enjoyable co-op experience, allowing you to focus on teamwork and strategy without external distractions.
