Find your path to the Sunken Cathedral in Code Vein II. Overcome obstacles and enemies to reach this pivotal new region.

Path to the Sunken Cathedral

Leaving the relative safety of the Forgotten Hamlet and its First Mistle, your next objective is to reach the imposing structure known as the Sunken Cathedral. This path will test your nascent combat skills and introduce you to more varied enemy types. Eva will accompany you, offering occasional advice and assistance in combat. The route is not entirely straightforward and involves navigating a series of crumbling bridges and flooded courtyards. Your first significant obstacle will be a group of three Hollow Soldiers guarding a narrow passage. These enemies are more resilient than the basic Lost and wield heavier weaponry, capable of staggering you with their charged attacks. Prioritize dodging their overhead slams and use the environment for cover. A well-placed Heavy Attack (Triangle on PS5) can break their guard, creating an opening for a flurry of Light Attacks. Be aware of their Rage mechanic, which increases their attack speed and damage output.

After overcoming the Hollow Soldiers, you'll enter a flooded courtyard. Here, you'll encounter the agile Bloody Mist, a fast-moving enemy that can inflict the Bleed status effect. Its rapid lunges can be difficult to track. Consider equipping a Gift that offers increased mobility or a defensive buff, such as the Iron Will Gift, which temporarily boosts your defense. Loot the Titanite Shard from a corpse near a broken fountain in this courtyard; it will be useful for weapon upgrades. The path continues through a series of interconnected ruins. Keep an eye out for hidden alcoves and elevated platforms, as these often conceal valuable items or provide tactical advantages. You may find a Blood Pack, which restores a portion of your lost health, or even a new Blood Code, such as the Berserker, if you're lucky. The Sunken Cathedral looms in the distance, its spires piercing the perpetually overcast sky, saling the next major area of exploration.
