Unlocking the Central Core
The Central Core is the pulsating heart of the Ancient Research Facility, a nexus of power and information that holds the key to understanding the catastrophe that befell this world. Reaching it requires navigating a series of intricate security systems and overcoming powerful guardians. The path to the Central Core is protected by automated defense turrets that fire rapid bursts of energy. These turrets can be destroyed with concentrated attacks, but their rapid firing rate makes them dangerous. Utilize cover provided by the facility's architecture and employ ranged Blood Skills like the Piercing Bolt to disable them from a distance. You will also encounter Security Drones, small, fast-moving aerial units that swarm the player. Their primary attack is a kamikaze dive, dealing significant explosive damage. Equipping the Shield of Aegis Blood Veil offers a 30% chance to block incoming projectile damage, which is highly effective against these drones. The Central Core itself is protected by a series of energy barriers, each requiring a specific activation sequence to deactivate. These sequences are often hinted at by nearby data logs or visual cues on the walls. For instance, one barrier might require you to activate three power nodes in a specific order, indicated by their color-coding.
The primary guardian of the Central Core is the Warden, a colossal automaton designed for ultimate defense. The Warden possesses immense physical strength and can unleash devastating energy waves. Its weak points are its exposed power conduits, located on its back and shoulders, which become vulnerable after it performs its "Ground Shatter" attack. Timing your dodges and utilizing the Phantom Dash Blood Skill is crucial to avoid its sweeping arm attacks and ground slams. The Warden also has a powerful laser cannon that it charges for a significant period before firing; this is your prime opportunity to strike its weak points. If you find yourself struggling to deal damage, consider using the Corrosion Bomb item, which temporarily reduces the Warden's defense by 25%. The Central Core chamber also contains environmental hazards, such as unstable energy conduits that periodically discharge arcs of electricity. Staying mobile and using the available cover is essential. After defeating the Warden, you will gain access to the Central Core console. Interacting with it will initiate a series of data downloads and unlock new Blood Codes and Blood Veils. Be prepared for a final wave of security automatons that will attempt to prevent your escape. Prioritize clearing these enemies quickly to safely exit the area with your newfound knowledge.
