  • Companion Selection: Your choice of companion significantly impacts combat.
    • Louis: Offers a balanced approach with both offensive and support capabilities. His Blood Code, Prometheus, provides versatile Gifts.
    • Io: An excellent healer and support character. Her Gifts can keep you alive through tough encounters.
    • Yakumo: A tanky, aggressive companion who can draw aggro and deal substantial damage. His Blood Code, Atlas, is great for melee builds.
    • Mia: A ranged attacker who can provide consistent damage from a distance. Her Blood Code, Artemis, focuses on ranged combat.
    • Muramasa: (Available later) A powerful melee companion.
    Experiment with different companions to find one that complements your playstyle and the challenges of a specific area or boss.
  • Blood Code & Gift Optimization: This is your primary tool for adapting to challenges.
    • Explore Diverse Blood Codes: Don't stick to just one. Collect all available Blood Codes (e.g., Fighter, Caster, Ranger, Queen's Breath, etc.) by progressing through the main story and completing side quests. Each offers unique stat distributions and Gifts.
    • Inherit Gifts: Master Gifts from various Blood Codes to inherit them and use them with any other Blood Code. This allows for highly customized builds. For example, inheriting Adrenaline from the Fighter Blood Code can boost your damage significantly, while Regenerative Drain from the Caster Blood Code can provide crucial healing.
