Gift List & Details
Gifts in Code Vein are the equivalent of active and passive skills that enhance your combat capabilities. Understanding how to acquire and use them effectively is crucial for survival in Vein. This section will guide you through obtaining various Gifts, detailing their locations and strategic uses.
Understanding Gifts
Gifts are powerful abilities categorized into active and passive types. Active Gifts consume Ichor and must be manually activated, while Passive Gifts provide constant bonuses without Ichor cost. Each Blood Code comes with a unique set of Gifts, and by mastering a Gift, you can inherit it and use it with any other Blood Code, provided you meet the stat requirements.
Acquiring Gifts
Gifts are primarily acquired through two main methods:
- Unlocking with Blood Codes: As you progress through the story and defeat bosses, you will unlock new Blood Codes. Each Blood Code inherently grants access to a specific set of Gifts.
- Mastering Gifts: To inherit a Gift and make it usable across all Blood Codes, you must "master" it. This is done by accumulating enough Haze while the Blood Code containing the desired Gift is equipped. You can accelerate this process by using Awake MJxxx items.
Key Gift Locations and Acquisition Strategies

Mid-Game Gifts (Howling World & Cathedral of the Sacred Blood)
As you delve deeper, more specialized and powerful Gifts become available. Focus on Gifts that complement your preferred playstyle.
- Blood Code: Berserker (Acquired after defeating the Invading Executioner in the Howling World)
- Gift: Bridge to Glory (Active) - Significantly boosts weapon damage. A staple for melee builds.

Late Game Gifts (Crown of Sand & Provisional Government Outskirts)
These Gifts offer advanced utility and significant power boosts, often synergizing well with specific builds.

- Gift: Foulblood Barrier (Active) - Creates a barrier that absorbs damage. Crucial for tanking hits.
- Gift: Overdrive (Active) - Temporarily increases attack speed and damage. High risk, high reward.
- Blood Code: Harmonia (Found in the Provisional Government Outskirts, after defeating the Juzo Mido boss)
- Gift: Final Journey (Active) - Grants immense power for a short duration, but drains HP. Use with caution.
- Gift: Communal Gift (Passive) - Boosts the effectiveness of Gifts used by allies. Great for co-op.
Maximizing Gift Usage
- Awake MJxxx Items: These consumables are invaluable for quickly mastering Gifts. Use them on Gifts you intend to inherit and use frequently. They can be found as drops from stronger enemies, in chests, or purchased from merchants like Muramasa in the Home Base.
- Ichor Management: Many powerful Gifts consume significant Ichor. Consider equipping Blood Veils that offer high Ichor capacity or Gifts that restore Ichor, such as Blood Sacrifice (from the Isis Blood Code) or Ichor Absorb.
- Synergy: Experiment with different combinations of active and passive Gifts. For example, pairing Adrenaline with Bridge to Glory can create devastating burst damage for melee builds.
- Adaptability: Don't be afraid to change your Gift loadout for different encounters. A boss that deals heavy elemental damage might require elemental resistance Gifts, while a mob-heavy area might benefit from area-of-effect attacks.
