Economic Optimization & Expansion
  • Early Refinery Rush: In most maps, prioritize getting your first Refinery up on an Ore Mine as quickly as possible. This establishes your economic backbone.
  • Multiple Refineries: Don't stop at one! As soon as your initial economy is stable, scout for additional Ore Mines and build more Refineries. More income means more units and faster teching.
  • Protect Your Economy: Refineries and Ore Collectors/Gatherers are high-priority targets for your enemy. Defend them with static defenses and mobile units. Losing your economy can be a death sentence.
  • Power Management: Always maintain a slight surplus of power. Build Power Plants/Generators proactively, especially before constructing new production buildings or advanced structures. A power deficit will cripple your production and defenses.
  • Sell Damaged Buildings: If a building is heavily damaged and unlikely to survive, sell it to recoup some of its cost. This is especially useful for Refineries under attack.
  • Empire Nanocore Mobility: For the Empire, utilize the mobile Nanocore to quickly establish forward bases on new Ore Mines, allowing for rapid expansion and resource acquisition.
  • Soviet Grinder: The Soviet Grinder can be used to recycle damaged or obsolete units for a portion of their cost. This can be a valuable economic tool, especially in prolonged engagements or when transitioning to a new army composition.
  • Tech vs. Economy: Find a balance between investing in technology (Battle Lab/Imperial Engineer) and expanding your economy. Too much tech too early can leave you vulnerable, while too much economy without tech can leave you with an outdated army.

Consistent and efficient resource gathering will allow you to out-produce your opponent, replace losses, and ultimately overwhelm them. Never neglect your economy, as it is the lifeblood of your war effort. Scouting for new ore fields and defending them aggressively is a key component of long-term success. Remember that a well-managed economy allows for greater strategic flexibility and the ability to adapt to any situation the enemy throws at you. Prioritizing your economic growth in the early game often translates to a significant advantage in the mid and late game.
