Thrall System: Capture & Training
Thralls are indispensable allies in the Exiled Lands, serving as both formidable combatants and diligent laborers. To acquire a thrall, players must first gather essential tools: a Truncheon for subduing, Rope for binding, and a Wheel of Pain for breaking their will. The process begins by locating and incapacitating a desired NPC using the Truncheon. Once an NPC is knocked unconscious, they can be bound with Rope. This bound NPC must then be dragged to a constructed Wheel of Pain. The Wheel of Pain acts as a prison and a tool for psychological torment, requiring players to supply it with food to accelerate the thrall's conversion. The type of food placed in the Wheel of Pain directly impacts the speed at which the thrall's will is broken. Different types of NPCs can be captured, each offering unique benefits. For instance, Fighters enhance your combat prowess, while Archers provide ranged support. Other specialized thralls can be found, such as crafters who can significantly improve the efficiency of your crafting stations, allowing for the production of higher-tier items and resources. The effectiveness of a thrall is often tied to their rarity and the tier of the Wheel of Pain used for their training. A higher-tier Wheel of Pain, such as the Improved Wheel of Pain, will break a thrall's will faster than a basic one. Furthermore, the specific NPC you capture also determines their potential. For example, capturing a named NPC like a Dalinsia Snowhunter will yield a more powerful thrall than a generic bandit. The journey of a thrall doesn't end with their capture; they can be further improved through gear and by assing them to specific tasks within your base, such as manning crafting stations or guarding your territory.
