The Former is a massive, tentacled entity encountered in the Black Rock Quarry. It has two main phases. Phase 1: The Former will slam its tentacles, creating shockwaves, and fire projectiles. Use Evade to dodge the slams and Shield to block projectiles. Your primary goal is to destroy the glowing orange eyes on its tentacles. Use Pierce or Launch to target them. After destroying a few, it will expose its main eye. Focus all your damage on the main eye. Phase 2: The Former will retreat to the background and summon Hiss enemies. Clear the Hiss quickly, then repeat the process of destroying tentacle eyes and damaging the main eye. Stay mobile, use cover, and manage your Energy for Launch and Shield. Reward: Ability Points and valuable mods.
