Starting a New Game+ in Control Ultimate Edition offers a unique way to replay the game:
- Progression Carryover: When you start a New Game+, you retain all of Jesse's unlocked abilities, upgraded Service Weapon forms, collected mods, and most importantly, your accumulated Ability Points. This means you can immediately utilize your full arsenal from the outset.
- Increased Difficulty: Enemies in New Game+ are generally tougher. They have increased health, deal more damage, and may exhibit new attack patterns or behaviors. This provides a fresh challenge for experienced players.
- New Challenges and Enemies: While the core story remains the same, some encounters might be altered. You might face stronger versions of existing enemies or encounter new enemy placements that require you to adapt your strategies.
- New Collectibles and Secrets: While you won't find new story-critical collectibles, there might be opportunities to find higher-tier versions of mods or other valuable items that were harder to obtain on your first playthrough.
- Revisiting the Story: New Game+ is an excellent opportunity to experience the narrative again with the benefit of hindsight and a full understanding of the game's lore and mechanics. You might catch details you missed the first time around.
- Unlocking Achievements/Trophies: Some games offer specific achievements or trophies for completing New Game+ or for achieving certain feats within it.
- Re-experimenting with Builds: With all your abilities unlocked, you can experiment with different character builds and Service Weapon mod combinations to see how they perform against the heightened difficulty.
To unlock New Game+, you must first complete the main story of Control Ultimate Edition. Once the credits roll, you'll have the option to start a New Game+ from the main menu, carrying over your hard-earned progress.
