Environmental Interactions
The Oldest House is not just a backdrop; it's a weapon. Mastering environmental interactions is paramount to survival in Control Ultimate Edition. The Bureau's shifting architecture and the very fabric of reality can be manipulated to your advantage, turning ordinary objects into deadly projectiles or creating temporary shields. Learning to leverage these elements will transform chaotic firefights into strategic victories.
Jesse's telekinetic abilities allow her to interact with the environment in numerous ways, which are essential for both combat and exploration:
- Telekinetic Throw: This is your primary environmental weapon. Almost any loose object – chairs, desks, filing cabinets, even debris from destroyed enemies – can be picked up and hurled with immense force. This is incredibly effective against groups of Hiss, breaking their formations and dealing sificant damage. Look for larger, heavier objects for maximum impact.
- Shielding: While not a direct environmental interaction, Jesse can use debris to create a temporary shield. When you're not actively throwing objects, you can often find cover behind sturdy furniture or walls. Destroyed objects can also provide temporary cover.
- Destructible Environments: Many parts of the environment are destructible, from thin walls to fragile cover. Use this to your advantage to flush out enemies or create new sightlines. Be aware that enemies can also destroy your cover.
- Levitation and Environmental Hazards: While Levitation is an ability, its use in conjunction with the environment is key. You can levitate to higher ground to gain a tactical advantage or avoid ground-based threats. Some areas might also contain environmental hazards, such as unstable energy fields or collapsing structures, which can be used against enemies if timed correctly.
Always be scanning your surroundings for throwable objects, especially during intense combat. A well-timed telekinetic barrage can turn the tide of any encounter.
