The Hiss are the primary antagonists in Control, an otherworldly entity that corrupts individuals and the environment. They manifest in various forms, each with distinct attack patterns and abilities. Understanding these is key to survival.
- Hiss Distorted: These are the most common enemies, former FBC employees now under Hiss control. They wield firearms and can be found in large numbers.
- Attacks: Standard gunfire, sometimes with explosive rounds.
- Countermeasures: Utilize cover effectively. Prioritize headshots for quick takedowns. Use telekinetic abilities to throw objects and stagger them.
- Hiss Charged: These enemies emit a powerful energy blast that can stagger Jesse and deal sificant damage.
- Attacks: A charged energy projectile that homes in on Jesse.
- Countermeasures: Dodge frequently. The Shield ability is highly effective at blocking these projectiles. Destroying them quickly is essential.
- Hiss Warped: These are more resilient Hiss variants that can teleport and unleash a barrage of projectiles.
- Attacks: Rapid projectile volleys, teleportation to flank Jesse.
- Countermeasures: Keep moving and use the environment for cover. Abilities like Launch can disrupt their teleportation.
- Hiss Clusters: These are amorphous masses of Hiss that can explode upon death, dealing area-of-effect damage.
