Once you unlock diving, you'll gain access to specialized underwater tools. The Scythe is used to clear kelp and other plant debris, while your hands are used to pick up trash. As you progress in diving, you'll unlock upgrades for your diving suit, allowing you to stay underwater longer, move faster, and access deeper, more challenging areas. Look for opportunities to craft or purchase improved oxygen tanks and flippers.
