Activating your Core is a pivotal moment in Core Keeper, marking the beginning of your true underground adventure. This process involves a series of steps, from gathering initial resources to defending your nascent base. Follow this walkthrough to ensure a smooth and successful Core activation.
Step 1: Initial Exploration and Resource Gathering
Upon spawning, your primary objective is to locate and gather basic resources. You will begin with a Copper Pickaxe and a Copper Axe. Your immediate needs are:
- Wood: Chop down trees to gather Wood. This is essential for crafting basic tools, structures, and eventually, your first crafting stations.
- Stone: Mine Stone deposits found on the surface and in shallow underground areas. Stone is used for crafting and building.
- Coal: Look for Coal veins, often found near Stone deposits. Coal is vital for torches and smelting.
- Copper Ore: Mine Copper Ore veins to acquire the material needed for your first tier of tools and armor.
As you explore, keep an eye out for passive creatures like Chickens and Slimes. These can provide food and other useful materials.
Step 2: Crafting Essential Tools and Stations
Once you have a modest stockpile of Wood and Stone, return to your starting area and craft the following at your inventory crafting menu:
- Workbench: This is your first dedicated crafting station. It unlocks a wider range of recipes.
