Nitros Oxide is the final boss of Adventure Mode, racing on his signature track, Oxide Station. Unlike the other bosses, Oxide doesn't have unique item attacks. Instead, he relies on pure, relentless speed and perfect racing lines.

Phases & Attacks:

Nitros Oxide doesn't have distinct attack phases. His 'attack' is simply his incredibly high skill level:

  1. Perfect Racing Lines: He takes optimal lines through every turn and shortcut.
  2. Consistent Mini-Turbos: He rarely misses a triple mini-turbo, maintaining Sacred Fire and often Blue Fire throughout the race.
  3. Aggressive AI: While he doesn't spam unique items, he will use standard items effectively and aggressively if you get too close.

Weaknesses & Strategy:

  • Master Oxide Station: You must know Oxide Station inside and out. Every shortcut, every boost pad, every turn.
  • Flawless Power Sliding: You need to consistently chain triple mini-turbos. One missed boost can cost you the race.
  • Maintain Sacred Fire/Blue Fire: This is paramount. Oxide will maintain it, and so must you. Learn the boost pads that grant Blue Fire and how to maintain it through turns.
  • Strategic Item Usage: Items are your only real way to disrupt his perfect run. Save Warp Orbs for the final lap if you're close. Use Tracking Missiles when he's just ahead. Shields are vital for protecting your lead.
  • Wumpa Fruit: Always maintain 10 Wumpa Fruits. Juiced-up items are your best chance to slow him down.
  • Patience and Practice: This is the hardest race in Adventure Mode. It will likely take many attempts. Don't get discouraged. Focus on perfecting your own driving.

Rewards:

Defeating Nitros Oxide completes Adventure Mode, unlocks Nitros Oxide as a playable character, and grants you the final Gem.
