Nitros Oxide is the final boss of Adventure Mode. He races on his signature track, Oxide Station, and is incredibly fast and relentless. He doesn't have unique item attacks like the other bosses; instead, he relies on pure speed and perfect racing lines.
Strategy for Oxide Station
Oxide Station is a futuristic track with anti-gravity sections, numerous boost pads, and challenging turns. To beat Oxide, you need to:
- Master Power Sliding & Mini-Turbos: You must consistently chain triple mini-turbos on every possible turn. Oxide rarely misses a boost.
- Utilize Boost Pads: Hit every single boost pad on the track. They are crucial for maintaining speed.
- Air Control & Landing Boosts: There are several jumps. Always perform a landing boost by holding the hop button just before touching down.
- Find the Optimal Racing Line: Oxide takes the perfect line. Study his movements and try to mimic them. Cut corners tightly where possible.
- Strategic Item Usage: Items are your only way to slow him down. Save offensive items like Warp Orbs, Bowling Bombs, and Tracking Missiles for when he's just ahead of you. Shields are vital for protecting your lead. If you get a Super Engine, use it on a long straightaway.
- Maintain 10 Wumpa Fruits: Always aim to have 10 Wumpa Fruits to juice up your items, making them more powerful.
This race is a test of endurance and perfection. Don't get discouraged if you don't win on your first few attempts. Keep practicing the track, refining your power slides, and learning the optimal lines. Once you defeat Nitros Oxide, you will have completed the main Adventure Mode and saved the planet!
