Choosing an Educator
When a child reaches the age of six, you will be prompted to select an educator for them. This educator can be yourself, another character in your court, or even a character from outside your realm. The educator's skills, traits, and lifestyle are crucial. Ideally, you want an educator who is skilled in the education focus you desire for the child and possesses positive traits that they can pass on.
Education Focuses
You can choose one of several education focuses for your child, which will determine the primary skills they develop. These focuses are:
- Stewardship: Focuses on managing your realm's economy and resources.
- Diplomacy: Enhances your character's ability to negotiate and interact with others.
- Martial: Develops combat prowess and leadership skills.
- Intrigue: Cultivates skills in espionage, manipulation, and subterfuge.
- Learning: Promotes scholarly pursuits, research, and the development of new technologies.
The chosen focus will influence the final education trait the child receives.
The Education Event Chain
Once an educator and focus are chosen, a series of events will occur as the child grows. These events will present you with choices that can influence the child's development, their traits, and their final education level. Pay close attention to these events and consider the long-term implications of your decisions. For example, an event might ask if you want your child to be more cautious or more daring, which can lead to different personality traits.
Education Traits
Upon reaching adulthood (age 16), your child will receive an education trait based on their performance during the education event chain. These traits range from "Incompetent" to "Exceptional" and are further categorized by the focus chosen.
