For beginners, it's recommended to select a ruler with a stable realm, good starting stats, and perhaps a strong heir. The 'Recommended Characters' tab offers excellent choices for new players, often highlighting rulers with interesting starting positions or powerful advantages. Consider playing in Ireland for a more contained and manageable experience, often referred to as the 'Tutorial Island'.
