Your demesne consists of the counties and baronies you directly control. Aim to hold counties within your primary duchy for maximum benefits. If you hold too many, you'll suffer an 'over-demesne limit' penalty, reducing income and levies. If you hold too few, you're missing out on potential power. Grant excess titles to loyal vassals, preferably those with good opinions of you and low intrigue skills. Always try to keep your capital county and its associated duchy title.
