The Ceph Pinger is a massive, quadrupedal Ceph war machine, often encountered in open areas. It's heavily armored and possesses devastating firepower. You'll face several Pingers throughout the game, each presenting a significant challenge.

Phases & Attacks:
- Phase 1 (Initial Engagement): The Pinger will primarily use its heavy plasma cannons, firing rapid bursts or charged shots. It also has a ground pound attack if you get too close.
- Phase 2 (Damaged): As it takes damage, the Pinger may deploy smaller Ceph units (Stalkers or Grunts) to distract you. Its armor will also begin to peel away, revealing glowing weak points.
Weaknesses & Strategy:
- Weak Points: The Pinger's primary weak points are the glowing orange vents on its legs and back. Once these are exposed, focus fire on them.
- Recommended Weapons: The JAW rocket launcher is your best friend. Aim for the weak points. If you don't have a JAW, sustained fire from an LMG or HMG (if available) on the weak points is effective. Explosive barrels in the environment can also deal significant damage.
- Nanosuit Use: Use Armor mode when engaging directly to mitigate damage. Use Cloak mode to reposition, flank, or escape when your health is low. Power Jump to reach higher ground for a better vantage point.
- Tactics: Keep your distance and use cover. Circle the Pinger, constantly moving to avoid its attacks and get clear shots at its weak points. Prioritize taking out any smaller Ceph units it deploys to avoid being overwhelmed.
The key to defeating a Pinger is patience and precise targeting of its weak points. Don't waste ammo on its armored sections.
