Getting Started

Welcome to the war-torn streets of New York City. As Alcatraz, equipped with the revolutionary Nanosuit 2.0, you are humanity's last hope against both the alien Ceph and the ruthless CELL corporation. This section will guide you through the essential elements of your interface and initial Nanosuit functions, preparing you for the intense battles ahead.

Understanding Your Heads-Up Display (HUD)

Your HUD is your lifeline, providing critical information at a glance. Familiarize yourself with these key elements to stay alive and tactical:

  • Health Bar: Located on the bottom left of your screen, this indicates your current health. It regenerates automatically if you avoid taking damage for a short period.
  • Nanosuit Energy Bar: Positioned towards the bottom center, this bar governs your Nanosuit abilities. Running, sprinting, using Cloak or Armor Mode, and Power Jumping all consume energy. It regenerates passively when not in use. Always monitor this to avoid critical power depletion.
  • Tactical Map: Found in the upper left, this displays tactical information, including enemy locations, your objective marker, and points of interest scouted with your Visor.

Core Nanosuit Abilities & Controls

The Nanosuit 2.0 grants you unparalleled combat versatility. Master these core abilities and their associated controls:

  • Armor Mode (Q / LB / L1): Engage this to significantly bolster your defense against incoming fire. It drains energy as you sustain damage.
  • Cloak Mode (E / RB / R1): Become temporarily invisible to enemies. Your energy drains more rapidly when moving or in close proximity to enemies. Firing a weapon immediately breaks cloak and depletes all remaining energy.
  • Power Jump (Hold Space / A / Cross): Allows for vertical traversal, letting you reach higher ground or escape immediate threats. Consumes energy.
  • Tactical Visor (B / Up D-pad): Essential for situational awareness. Activate it to tag enemies, objectives, and valuable resources, marking them on your HUD and Tactical Map even through obstacles.

Refer to the "Controls & Nanosuit Abilities" section for an exhaustive breakdown of all keybinds and advanced suit functionalities.

First Steps to Survival

Mastering your Nanosuit's energy management is paramount. A depleted energy bar leaves you vulnerable. Proactively deactivate unnecessary Nanosuit functions when your energy falls below 20% to ensure faster recharge times. Prioritize understanding your HUD and the fundamental controls before diving into combat.
