Mission 6: Only Human
This mission sees Prophet and Psycho pursuing the Alpha Ceph, leading to intense combat sequences and strategic navigation through the ravaged New York City.
Objective: Pursue the Alpha Ceph
The mission begins with Prophet and Psycho in a vehicle, chasing the Alpha Ceph. This initial segment is largely linear, focusing on maintaining pursuit. Keep an eye out for environmental hazards and Ceph forces attempting to intercept you.
Combat Encounter: Ceph Stalker Ambush
After a short drive, the Alpha Ceph will lead you into a trap. You'll be ambushed by multiple Ceph Stalkers in a ruined urban area. This is a prime opportunity to use your Nanosuit's stealth and speed abilities.
- Strategy:
- Activate Cloak immediately to avoid being overwhelmed.
- Prioritize taking down Stalkers with silent takedowns or headshots from a distance using a silenced weapon like the Predator Bow or a DSG-1 Sniper Rifle.
- use environmental cover. The ruined buildings offer plenty of vantage points and concealment.
- If you're detected, switch to Armor Mode and engage with a high-firepower weapon such as the SCAR Mod 2 or a Typhoon.
- Look for explosive barrels or weak structural points to create environmental hazards for the Stalkers.
- Loot/Collectibles:
- After clearing the area, search the surrounding rubble and abandoned vehicles for ammunition and weapon attachments. There's often a Ceph Bolt Caster with some ammo in this area, which can be useful for silent kills.
Navigating the Ceph-Infested Streets
Proceed through the urban decay, following the Alpha Ceph's energy signature. You'll encounter scattered Ceph patrols, including Grunts and more Stalkers. This section emphasizes tactical movement and resource management.
- Pathfinding:
- Stick to elevated positions and rooftops whenever possible to gain a tactical advantage and avoid direct confrontation.
- Use your Nanosuit's visor to tag enemies and identify patrol routes before engaging.
- Look for alternate paths through buildings or alleyways to flank enemies.
- Enemy Types:
- Ceph Grunts: Standard infantry, easily dispatched with headshots or melee attacks.
- Ceph Stalkers: Agile and dangerous in close quarters. Prioritize them.
- Ceph Prowlers: Occasionally, you might encounter these larger, more heavily armored Ceph. Use explosive weapons or sustained fire on their weak points (glowing orange areas).
- Weapon Recommendations:
- Predator Bow (Explosive Arrows): Excellent for taking out groups of Grunts or damaging Prowlers.
- DSG-1 Sniper Rifle: Ideal for long-range stealth takedowns.
- SCAR Mod 2 (with Foregrip and Laser Sight): A versatile assault rifle for general combat.
Confrontation: Ceph Gunship and Heavy Infantry
As you approach a larger open area, you'll face a more significant Ceph presence, including a Ceph Gunship and several heavily armored Ceph units.
- Strategy:
- Deal with the Gunship first: Immediately seek cover. Look for a Javelin Rocket Launcher or a Ceph Incinerator in the vicinity. There's usually one near the entrance to this area, often on a raised platform or in a destroyed building. Two direct hits from the Javelin will bring it down.
- Engage Heavy Infantry: Once the Gunship is down, focus on the remaining ground forces. These often include Ceph Heavies armed with powerful weapons. Use explosive weapons, grenades, or focus fire on their weak points.
- use the environment: The area is typically littered with debris and ruined structures. Use these for cover and to break line of sight.
- Collectibles:
- After the combat, thoroughly search the area. There's often a Prophet's Stash or a Ceph Data Pad hidden in one of the more secluded corners or on a higher level of a ruined building.
Final Push to the Alpha Ceph's Location
With the heavy resistance cleared, continue your pursuit. The path will become more direct, leading you to the Alpha Ceph's current location. Be prepared for a final, intense encounter as you close in.
- Preparation:
- Ensure your weapons are reloaded and you have sufficient ammunition.
- Consider swapping out less effective weapons for more powerful ones found in the previous combat zones. A Typhoon is excellent for close-quarters engagement, while a Revolver can deliver high damage per shot.
- Recharge your Nanosuit energy before entering the final area.
