This mission throws you into the heart of the Ceph Alpha Ceph's domain. Expect intense combat against several Ceph forces, including Stalkers, Scorchers, and even the formidable Pinger. Resource management and tactical use of your Nanosuit abilities will be crucial for survival.

Initial Approach and Ceph Resistance

You begin in a desolate, alien-looking landscape. Your primary objective is to reach the Alpha Ceph's location. The path is linear but heavily guarded.

  • First Encounter: Immediately after the mission starts, you'll face a group of Ceph Stalkers. Engage them from a distance using your preferred weapon, such as the Typhoon or Predator Bow with explosive arrows for quick takedowns.
  • Navigating the Terrain: Proceed through the rocky, glowing caverns. use your Nanosuit's Cloak ability to bypass smaller groups of Ceph or to get into advantageous positions for stealth takedowns.
  • Scorcher Ambush: As you advance, you'll encounter Ceph Scorchers. These units are heavily armored and wield powerful flamethrowers. Prioritize headshots or use explosive weapons like the Javelin or a well-placed grenade to disable them quickly. Consider using your Armor Mode to absorb some of their initial attacks.

The Pinger Gauntlet

A significant challenge in this mission is confronting multiple Ceph Pingers. These massive units require a different approach than standard Ceph infantry.

  • First Pinger: You'll enter a larger, open area where a Pinger will emerge.
    • Strategy: Focus fire on its glowing weak points, typically the joints or the central core. The Javelin rocket launcher is highly effective here. If you don't have one, look for weapon caches in the area that might contain heavy weapons.
    • Environmental Hazards: Use the environment to your advantage. There are often structures or rock formations you can use for cover from its energy blasts.
    • Support Units: The Pinger will often be accompanied by smaller Ceph units. Clear these out first to reduce distractions and allow you to concentrate on the Pinger.
  • Second Pinger and Reinforcements: Further into the mission, you'll face another Pinger, often with more intense Ceph support.
    • Weaponry: Ensure you have a full stock of heavy ammunition. The Revolver with explosive rounds can also be surprisingly effective against Pinger weak points if you're accurate.
    • Tactical Retreat: Don't be afraid to retreat and reposition if you're overwhelmed. Use Cloak to break line of sight and regenerate health/armor.

Reaching the Alpha Ceph

After navigating the Pinger encounters, the path will lead you closer to the Alpha Ceph's chamber.

  • Final Approach: Expect heavy resistance from all types of Ceph units as you near the objective. This is a good time to deploy any remaining Ceph weapons you've picked up, such as the Ceph Incinerator or Ceph Bolt Caster, which are highly effective against their brethren.
  • Energy Barriers: You may encounter energy barriers blocking your path. Look for nearby power conduits or control panels to disable them. These are often guarded.
  • The Chamber Entrance: Once you reach the entrance to the Alpha Ceph's chamber, take a moment to resupply and prepare for the final confrontation. There are usually weapon caches and ammo crates available just before major boss encounters.
