Post-Game Content
Congratulations, Prophet! You've saved humanity (for now) and completed the main campaign of Crysis 3. But the fight isn't over. The Liberty Dome still holds secrets, and your Nanosuit is capable of so much more. This section will guide you through maximizing your post-game experience, from hunting down elusive collectibles to mastering your Nanosuit's full potential.
Nanosuit Module Mastery
Even after the credits roll, you might find yourself with unspent Nanosuit Upgrade Kits. These are crucial for unlocking and upgrading all 20 Nanosuit Modules, which significantly enhance your combat capabilities. Each module offers unique advantages, and a fully upgraded suit turns Prophet into an even more formidable force.
- Locating Remaining Upgrade Kits: While most kits are found during the campaign, some are easily missed. Revisit missions using the 'Replay Mission' option from the main menu. Focus on thorough exploration, especially in areas with multiple paths or hidden alcoves.
- Specific Hotspots:
- Post-Human: This mission is notorious for hidden kits. Keep an eye out near the crashed VTOLs and within the dense vegetation.
- Safeties Off: Check behind large debris and within the abandoned C.E.L.L. outposts.
- Root of All Evil: Explore the cave systems and the areas around the massive Ceph structures carefully.
- Prioritizing Upgrades:
- Essential Modules: Prioritize modules like Energy Transfer (for faster energy regeneration), Threat Tagging (to automatically tag enemies), and Cloak Tracking (to see cloaked enemies).
- Combat Modules: For aggressive playstyles, focus on Weapon Pro (faster reloads, weapon switching) and Armor Enhance (increased damage resistance).
- Stealth Modules: If you prefer a silent approach, invest in Stealth Enhance (reduced energy drain while cloaked) and Silent Steps (quieter movement).
- Testing New Loadouts: Once you have a good selection of modules, experiment with different combinations to find the perfect synergy for your playstyle. The 'Replay Mission' feature is excellent for this, allowing you to test new builds against familiar enemy encounters.
Collectible Hunt: Data Pads and Blackboxes
The Liberty Dome is littered with lore-rich collectibles that deepen the Crysis universe. There are 20 Data Pads and 20 Blackboxes to find. Collecting all of them not only provides fascinating backstory but also unlocks achievements/trophies.
- using Mission Select: The most efficient way to track down missing collectibles is through the 'Replay Mission' menu. Each mission's summary will show you how many collectibles you've found out of the total for that specific level.
- Data Pads: These glowing blue tablets often contain C.E.L.L. reports, personal logs, and scientific data.
- Typical Locations: Data Pads are frequently found on desks, control panels, inside abandoned buildings, or near C.E.L.L. encampments.
- Mission 1: Post-Human Example: In the initial C.E.L.L. facility, after Prophet is freed, look for a Data Pad on a table in one of the small offices before proceeding to the main objective. Another is often found near the crashed VTOL at the end of the level.
- Blackboxes: These are usually found near fallen C.E.L.L. soldiers or crashed vehicles, containing their final transmissions. They glow with a red-orange light.
- Typical Locations: Blackboxes are often in more open, combat-heavy areas where C.E.L.L. forces have been overwhelmed. Check near destroyed vehicles, weapon crates, and fallen soldiers.
- Mission 3: Safeties Off Example: After the initial encounter with the Ceph Pinger, explore the surrounding wreckage thoroughly. Several Blackboxes are often found near the scattered C.E.L.L. bodies and destroyed armored vehicles in this area.
- The Nanosuit's Role: Remember to use your Nanosuit's visor (default 'V' on PC, 'Up' on D-Pad for consoles) frequently. Collectibles will glow faintly through walls, making them easier to spot, especially in cluttered environments.
Weapon Proficiency and Challenges
Crysis 3 features a wide array of conventional and Ceph weaponry. Post-game is the perfect time to master every weapon and complete any remaining weapon-specific challenges.
- Weapon Attachments: Ensure you've unlocked all weapon attachments by picking up every weapon type you encounter. Attachments like the Foregrip, Laser Sight, and various scopes significantly improve weapon performance.
- Weapon Challenges: Check your in-game challenges menu. Many challenges involve achieving a certain number of kills with specific weapons (e.g., "50 kills with the SCARAB," "25 headshots with the Predator Bow"). Replaying missions provides ample opportunities to grind these out.
- Recommended Missions for Grinding:
- Welcome to the Jungle: Early C.E.L.L. encounters are great for conventional weapon kills.
- Red Star Rising: High Ceph enemy density makes this ideal for Ceph weapon challenges.
- Replay Specific Encounters: If you need kills with a particular weapon, identify a mission section with a good number of relevant enemies, complete the objective, and then restart from the last checkpoint to repeat the encounter.
- Predator Bow Mastery: The Predator Bow is Prophet's signature weapon. Experiment with all four arrow types (Carbon, Explosive, Electric, Super-Thermite) to understand their tactical applications. Completing bow-related challenges (e.g., "Stealth Kills with Bow," "Multi-Kills with Explosive Arrows") is highly rewarding.
Multiplayer (If Applicable)
While this guide focuses on the single-player experience, Crysis 3 also features a robust multiplayer component. If you're looking for continued action, dive into the online modes:
- Hunter Mode: A unique mode where two Nanosuit Hunters stalk C.E.L.L. soldiers. Every C.E.L.L. soldier killed respawns as a Hunter, creating a thrilling, escalating chase.
- Crash Site: Capture and hold objectives to earn points, often involving intense firefights over fallen Ceph pods.
- Team Deathmatch/Deathmatch: Classic competitive modes to test your Nanosuit skills against other players.
- Progression: Multiplayer features its own progression system, unlocking new weapons, attachments, and Nanosuit modules specifically for online play.
