Truth Bullets and Evidence
Truth Bullets are the cornerstone of the investigation and Class Trial phases in Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. These are the pieces of information, statements, and physical evidence you collect as you explore the island and interact with your fellow students. During the investigation, you'll be able to examine crime scenes, find objects, and speak with characters to gather these crucial Truth Bullets. For example, discovering a specific item at a crime scene, like the first Monokuma found floating in a dingy on Chandler Beach, will be added to your collection. Similarly, statements made by other students during interviews or testimonies in the Class Trial will also become Truth Bullets. It is vital to meticulously gather every piece of information, as even seemingly insignificant details can become critical in unraveling the truth during the trials. The game encourages thorough exploration and attentive listening to ensure you don't miss any vital clues.
Once you enter a Class Trial, your collected Truth Bullets become your arsenal. You will use them in various gameplay mechanics, most notably in the "Nonstop Debate" and "Closing Argument" segments. In Nonstop Debates, you'll engage in a rapid-fire discussion where characters present their arguments. You must shoot down false statements by selecting the appropriate Truth Bullet from your inventory that contradicts them. This often involves timing your shots and choosing the most relevant piece of evidence. For instance, if a character claims they saw no one near the victim, but you have a Truth Bullet of a witness statement placing someone there, you must use that to break their argument. The effectiveness of your Truth Bullets depends on their accuracy and relevance to the current discussion. Misusing a Truth Bullet can weaken your position and allow the trial to proceed on a false premise. Therefore, understanding the nuances of each piece of evidence and its potential application is key to successfully navigating the trials and uncovering the truth behind the murders orchestrated by Monokuma.
