Rebuttal Showdown

The Rebuttal Showdown is a more intense and direct confrontation within the Class Trial of Danganronpa 2×2, occurring when a character stubbornly clings to a false alibi or accusation. In this phase, one character will present a strong, often emotional, counter-argument that directly opposes the truth you've been building. Your task is to use your "Sword of Truth" to cut through their denial and expose the lie. Unlike the Nonstop Debate, you won't be firing individual Truth Bullets. Instead, you'll be presented with a statement, and you must use your Sword of Truth to slash through it. This is a rhythmic sequence where you'll need to press the action button in time with on-screen prompts to effectively break down their defenses. Missing a prompt will damage your Focus Gauge, similar to the Nonstop Debate. The key here is to anticipate the character's statement and be ready to act. For instance, if someone insists they were alone in the Greenhouse, but you have evidence of another student being present, you'll need to be prepared to cut through their claim. Successfully completing a Rebuttal Showdown often leads to a significant breakthrough in the trial, revealing crucial information or forcing a confession. It’s a test of your timing and your ability to remain focused under pressure, ensuring the truth prevails against even the most determined opposition.
