Preserving your progress in Danganronpa 2×2 is essential, especially given the high stakes and potential for abrupt endings. The game features an autosave system that frequently records your progress at key moments, such as entering new areas, completing significant events, or after important conversations. However, for more deliberate control over your save data, manual saving is also available. Access the main menu via the Select/Back button and navigate to the "Save" option. You can typically create up to 10 manual save slots, allowing you to experiment with different choices or revisit specific points in the narrative without losing hours of gameplay. When loading a game, you'll be presented with a list of your autosave and manual save files, showing the in-game date and time of the save. It is highly recommended to utilize manual saves before initiating a Class Trial or making a significant decision that could impact character relationships or the overall story progression. This allows you to easily revert if a particular trial outcome proves unfavorable or if you wish to explore alternative dialogue options with characters like Hajime Hinata or Chiaki Nanami. Be aware that certain story-critical moments may disable manual saving temporarily, relying solely on the autosave function to ensure the narrative unfolds as intended. Always check the save icon in the corner of the screen to confirm when your progress has been automatically recorded.
