Harvest Valley
Harvest Valley is a treacherous and toxic region, serving as a crucial transition zone between the bright Majula and the looming Earthen Peak. Players will contend with ubiquitous poison, large and aggressive enemies, and limited visibility in certain sections. Preparation is key: stock up on Poison Moss (or its more potent variant, Poison Moss Clump), equip armor with high poison resistance, and consider rings like the Poisonbite Ring. Melee characters should bring a ranged option for dealing with distant threats and triggering enemy aggro safely.
Bonfires
There are two bonfires in Harvest Valley:
- Poison Pool: The first bonfire you'll encounter, located shortly after entering the area from Things Betwixt/Majula.
- The Mines: Found deeper within the valley, offering a convenient checkpoint before the final push towards Earthen Peak.
Walkthrough
1. Entering Harvest Valley & The Poison Pool Bonfire
Upon entering Harvest Valley from the path leading from Things Betwixt, you'll immediately notice the greenish hue of the environment and the toxic pools. Stick to the higher ground on the right initially to avoid the first poison pool. Ahead, you'll see a large, club-wielding enemy, a Mounted Overseer. These foes are slow but hit hard and have significant health. Lure it out of the poison if possible, or use ranged attacks. After dispatching it, proceed forward to find the Poison Pool bonfire, usually located to your left, slightly elevated from the main path.
- Items to find nearby: Look for a corpse near the bonfire holding Soul of a Proud Knight.
2. Navigating the First Poison Pools
From the Poison Pool bonfire, head down into the main valley. You'll immediately be in a large area filled with poison. Several Mounted Overseers patrol this section, often accompanied by smaller, quicker Poison Moths that can inflict poison with their attacks. Prioritize the moths if they get too close. Use the scattered rock formations and elevated ledges as temporary safe zones from the poison.
- Strategy: Lure enemies one by one. Ranged attacks are highly effective here. If you must engage in melee, try to do so on solid ground. Keep an eye on your poison meter and use Poison Moss proactively.
- Items to find:
- On a corpse near the initial descent: Large Soul of a Lost Undead.
- Further into the poison, near some large rocks: Poison Moss x3.
- In a small alcove to the right, protected by a Mounted Overseer: Titanite Shard x2.
3. The Cave System & The Mines Bonfire
Continue through the poison pools, heading generally forward and slightly to the left. You'll eventually reach a cave entrance. Inside, the environment changes from open valley to a more confined, rocky path. Be wary of Undead Peasants who will ambush you from around corners. They are weak but can be annoying in groups.
Follow the winding path. You'll encounter more Mounted Overseers and possibly a few Prowling Magus (sorcerers) who cast Soul Arrow. Prioritize the Magus as their spells can be deadly, especially in tight spaces. After a short walk, you'll come across a small wooden structure and another cave opening. The The Mines bonfire is located inside this structure, to your right.
- Items to find:
- Before the cave entrance, on a corpse: Human Effigy.
- Inside the cave, along the main path: Soul of a Nameless Soldier.
- Near The Mines bonfire: Torch.
4. Towards Earthen Peak
From The Mines bonfire, continue deeper into the cave system. The path will become more linear. You'll encounter more Undead Peasants and a few more Mounted Overseers. There's also a section where you can drop down to a lower ledge to find some items, but be prepared for a climb back up or a longer path.
Eventually, the cave will open up into a larger, more open area, still within the valley but signaling the approach to Earthen Peak. Here, you might find a few more challenging encounters, including multiple Mounted Overseers patrolling together. Use the environment to your advantage, drawing them out one by one.
The path will lead you to a large wooden contraption – an elevator. This elevator signifies the end of Harvest Valley and the entrance to Earthen Peak. Before taking it, ensure you've explored thoroughly.
- Items to find:
- On a ledge accessible by dropping down (requires careful platforming or a long fall): Titanite Chunk.
- Near the elevator leading to Earthen Peak: Large Soul of a Proud Knight.
- In a hidden corner near the elevator: Radiant Lifegem.
Enemies and Strategies
- Mounted Overseer: Large, club-wielding giants. Slow but powerful. Their attacks have wide arcs. Dodge into their attacks to get behind them, or use ranged attacks from a distance. They are susceptible to bleed.
- Poison Moth: Small, flying enemies that inflict poison. They are fragile but can quickly build up your poison meter. Prioritize them with ranged attacks or quick melee strikes.
- Undead Peasant: Weak, humanoid enemies often found in groups or ambushing from corners. Easily dispatched but can overwhelm if not managed.
- Prowling Magus: Sorcerers who cast Soul Arrow. They are usually found on elevated positions or behind other enemies. Eliminate them first to avoid being sniped.

Common Pitfalls & Tips
- Poison Management: This is the primary challenge. Always carry Poison Moss. If your poison meter fills, immediately use a moss. Consider equipping the Poisonbite Ring (found in the Gutter) or armor with high poison resistance.
- Enemy Aggro: Many enemies are spread out but can be easily drawn. Use ranged attacks to pull individual enemies, especially the Mounted Overseers, to avoid being swarmed.
- Visibility: Some areas, particularly the deeper parts of the valley, can be dim. A Torch can be helpful, though it restricts your weapon choices.
- Exploration: Don't rush through. Many items are off the main path or require careful observation to spot.
- Stamina Management: Fighting in poison drains stamina faster. Be mindful of your stamina bar, especially during prolonged engagements.
