The final phase of the Slave Knight Gael fight is a brutal test of endurance and mastery. Gael becomes infused with the Dark Soul, granting him a terrifying array of new attacks and significantly increasing his aggression. He will begin to hurl dark projectiles, often in rapid succession, which can be difficult to dodge entirely. These projectiles can inflict damage over time and may stagger you, leaving you vulnerable. He also gains a devastating leaping attack where he dives from the air, creating a large explosion upon impact. The best strategy for this phase is to maintain a moderate distance and focus on punishing his recovery animations. When he uses his dark projectiles, try to weave between them or dodge through them. For his leaping attack, the timing is crucial; dodge just as he begins his descent. After he lands and the explosion dissipates, there's a brief window to get in a few hits. He will also continue to use his Greatsword with even more ferocity, chaining attacks together with little respite. Patience is paramount. Do not get greedy. Chip away at his health when safe opportunities arise. If you have access to ranged options or spells, this phase can be slightly more manageable, allowing you to deal damage from a safer distance between his onslaughts. Remember to manage your Estus Flasks carefully; this phase can be a long one.
