Slave Knight Gael Weaknesses & Resistances

Slave Knight Gael, the final boss of The Ringed City DLC, presents a unique challenge with distinct strengths and weaknesses that evolve throughout the fight. In his initial phase, Gael is moderately resistant to most forms of damage, but he is particularly vulnerable to Lightning and Dark damage. This makes weapons or spells imbued with these elements highly effective. He shows moderate resistance to Frostbite and Bleed, but these can still be applied with consistent pressure. Gael is highly resistant to Poison and Toxic, making these status effects largely ineffective. As the fight progresses into his later phases, his resistances shift, and he becomes more attuned to the Dark Soul. While he remains somewhat susceptible to Lightning, his resistance to Dark damage increases significantly. He also develops a strong resistance to all elemental damage types in his final phase, making raw physical damage or weapons that scale well with Strength and Dexterity the most reliable options. It is crucial to note that Gael is immune to all forms of debuffs, such as Curse, Frostbite, or Bleed buildup from spells or consumables. Therefore, focusing on direct damage and exploiting his elemental vulnerabilities in the early stages is key to a successful encounter.
